Terms & Conditions
By booking any service at Fur Casa, pet owners or guardians acknowledge that they understand and agree to all terms and conditions stated below. These terms are provided in compliance with Republic Act No. 8485 (The Animal Welfare Act of 1998).
1. Accountability for Harm and Injury
- Anti-Rabies Act Compliance: Pursuant to Republic Act No. 9482 (The Anti-Rabies Act of 2007), Section 5, Paragraph (f), regarding the responsibilities for the control and prevention of rabies: If a pet inflicts deep bites or serious scratches on any Fur Casa staff member or any other person (especially if the pet lacks required vaccinations), a deposit of ₱5,000 will be charged to the owner to cover vaccinations, surgeries, hospitalization, travel costs, or loss of income.
- Full Responsibility: If total medical expenses exceed ₱5,000, the additional amount will be charged to the owner. Any unused portion of the deposit will be refunded with official receipts provided.
- Injury to Others: Owners are responsible for all expenses resulting from injuries their pet may cause to any staff member, animal, or individual, including rehabilitation and loss of income.
2. Liability and Risk Acknowledgement
- General Release: Fur Casa will provide reasonable care; however, the facility, its owners, and its staff are released from liability for injury, illness, accidents, stress, anxiety, trauma, parasite transmission (fleas, ticks, worms), skin irritation, or death, except in cases of gross negligence.
- Pre-existing Conditions and Disclosure: Fur Casa is not a veterinary diagnostic facility. We may not be able to detect existing skin conditions, illnesses, or parasites during visual inspection. Pet owners must disclose all medical history, allergies, and physical sensitivities such as heart conditions, infections, or recent surgeries.
- Requested Services (Anal Sacs): If a specific service is requested (such as anal sac expression) for an area that has an underlying, undetected infection or medical issue, the owner accepts full responsibility for any resulting complications.
- Grooming Risks: Accidental nicks or abrasions may occur during grooming, especially in pets that are uncooperative. Staff will not be held liable unless caused by gross negligence.
- Non-Interference: Owners must not approach or handle pets during grooming, as this causes distraction or injury. Fur Casa is not liable for incidents resulting from such interference.
3. Post-Service Sensitivity and Behavior
- Eye and Skin Sensitivity: I acknowledge that during the physical process of hair cutting, clipping, or shaving, small pieces of fur may inevitably enter the pet’s eyes (puwing) or cause minor skin irritation. While Fur Casa takes every precaution to flush and clean the area, eye redness or irritation appearing after leaving the shop is often due to these microscopic hairs, environmental allergies, or the pet rubbing their face against carpets or furniture. Fur Casa is not liable for such irritations or any resulting veterinary costs once the pet has exited the premises.
- Behavioral Adjustment: Pets may act strange, hide, shake, or act stiff after their first groom, a long gap between services, or a full shave. Owners agree to monitor pets and consult a vet at their own expense if symptoms persist.
4. Causes for Rejection or Discontinuation of Service
Fur Casa reserves the right to refuse or terminate services at any time, without refund, if:
- A pet shows aggression, parasites, extreme matting, or cannot be safely handled.
- A pet is in heat, pregnant, or exhibits severe anxiety (howling, excessive barking, escape attempts).
- Partial Refund Policy: If a pet becomes unserviceable due to illness or aggression during grooming, a refund may be issued based on the stage completed. If major steps (bathing, drying, brushing) have been done, only a partial refund (not exceeding 30%) may be granted at management’s discretion.
5. Vaccination and Treatment Policy
- Required: Anti-Rabies (all pets) and 5-in-1 / DHPP (dogs) or 4-in-1 / FVRCP (cats) administered at least 2 weeks prior to the visit.
- Recommended: Kennel Cough, deworming (within the last 3 months), and preventive anti-tick and flea treatment.
- Verification: Records must be presented upon check-in or via Email, Messenger, or WhatsApp.
- Notice: Fur Casa is not liable for illness or parasite transmission regardless of the pet’s vaccination or immunity status.
6. Service-Specific Terms
- Nighttime Care: Overnight pets are fed, given a potty break, and placed in private suites. They are not continuously monitored inside suites but are under 24/7 CCTV with an on-site attendant present.
- Grooming Hygiene: Anal sac expression is required for pets with full sacs to prevent leakage during blow-drying, unless the dog is not in physical condition for the service.
- Diapers and Pick-up: Diapers are mandatory for pets waiting or in heat. Pets must be picked up within 30 minutes of grooming completion to avoid daycare charges.
- Transport: Liability for transport-related accidents rests solely with the third-party transporter.
7. Final Agreement and Authorization
- Emergency Care: Fur Casa is authorized to seek emergency veterinary care if necessary; owners agree to shoulder all related costs.
- Media Release: Owners grant permission to use photos or videos of pets for marketing unless they opt-out in writing before the service.
- Certification: By booking, owners certify their pets are in good health, non-aggressive, and fit for service.
